This season will be an exciting one as some of the hatchlings will be participating in a study looking at the impact of diet on behaviour and growth.
Looking at the possible outcomes we have arctic axanthic and arctic sable, redine albino, sable and sunburst, and of course, plenty of normals and condas.
The long shots are arctic yeti and mai tai superconda, if the hets prove out!
A rocky start to the season this year, with a 3-year-old, first time mum. She's been renamed Ostritch, given the size of the eggs she produced. She was unable to pass the seventh egg in her clutch and after 24 hours with no progress we popped off to the exotic vets. They sedated her and aspirated the contents of the egg so it was able to be removed, and then manually removed the remaining 9 eggs while she was sedated.
She is a normal possibly het sable, toffee belly and albino. She's been paired with two males, Twix2 a sable conda possibly het toffee belly and axanthic, and H4 a toffee belly het albino.
The eggs have all pipped, sadly one hatchling passed before exiting the egg, the other five are all looking strong and healthy, they're all normal with no conda so it looks like H4 was the sire and Ostrich is not het toffee belly. All the babies are het toffeebelly, 50% het albino and possibly het sable.

The second clutch this season was not a huge improvement on the first, though thankfully there was no vet visit needed.
Anna, a snow, produced a clutch of 14 eggs, though sadly 12 of those eggs were slugs and one was an early loss. She was paired with Columbo, a conda het sable and toffee belly, possibly het albino and axanthic.
Only one of the two good eggs hatched, with a healthy normal het snow.

Finally, clutch 3 was a return to the sort of results I'm more used to, Met laid a beautiful clutch of 10 eggs, neatly stacked and buried in the lay box. I felt a bit like an archaeologist uncovering them all.
She's an axanthic conda, het sable and albino, paired with an albino het sable. I'm very much looking forward to these babies.
This clutch are currently pipping, and it looks like we're pretty spot on with the odds, so far we have 4 albino, one sunburst, 3 normal and one sable, with one more egg to hatch - I'm guessing either a normal or a sable. The extra egg at the bottom right is from clutch B.
These babies will all be 100% het axanthic, 66% het sable (or visual) and 100% het albino (or visual)

Clutch 4 was another disappointment, Lacey was paired with Twix2 and laid a huge 26 egg clutch, sadly all of them slugs.

Clutch 5 and we're riding the rollercoaster of the season back to a high. Silverstone produced an amazing 19 egg clutch, with just one slug - what an amazing first-time mum.
She's an axanthic conda possibly het toffee belly and albino, paired with Ernie, an arctic het albino and axanthic.
An excellent hatch with no albino but plenty of gorgeous axanthic and axanthic conda with some arctics too.

The tide seems to be turning in our favour, Summit a normal female, possibly het sable, toffee and albino (the sister of Ostrich) laid 14 good eggs. She was also paired to two males, Teramo - albino het sable, and Columbo, conda het sable and toffee, possibly het snow.
A nice healthy clutch with some conda so the sire was Columbo - no sable or toffee babies though, so sadly summit has not proved out her possible hets.

The final first clutch this season is from Cream (Sister to Cookies who has not been paired) she's an arctic axanthic possibly het albino, paired with Pumbaa, an axanthic conda het albino.
A positive surprise here, all the babies are arctic axanthic/conda, so it looks like Cream is super arctic axanthic! Not a huge surprise given the changes in her contrast as she matured and shed, but very happy to have it confirmed.
No arctic snow unfortunately, so her possible het albino hasn't proved out.
